Chalice corals are a group of several different similar species of LPS coral. Most Chalice will form plates and folds with heavy tissue that layers on top of itself. Chalice corals can come in a multitude of different pigments and are typically regarded as some of the most colorful corals known. Most chalice are considered to be intermediate level corals, so you want to make sure you have the proper conditions and environment for this coral before adding to your aquarium. Chalice corals usually do best under higher lighting and moderate but not too high of flow. Like other LPS corals, chalice can take polyp damage whenever placed into areas of extreme flow and might even "sail" away from its intended spot due to the larger polyps adding surface area.
