The Neon Green Toadstool is a type of "Leather" coral considered to be one of the easiest to keep corals in the hobby. Leather corals are distinguished by the fleshy or leathery skin developed by the coral to hold its polyps in place. Most leather corals will develop erratic and unique shapes as they grow outward in multiple directions, but the Toadstool leather typically creates a large tower shape that is 2-3 times bigger at the top than the bottom giving this coral its namesake "toadstool" nickname. The green polyps will become more pronounced under higher light, but it is not necessary to keep this coral in high light conditions. Leathers generally are adaptive to many different conditions including multiple flow/lighting and will be tolerant of a wide variety of water parameters. We consider the Green Toadstool to be an excellent beginner coral.
