The Yellow Goatfish is a peaceful fish. They can get up to over a foot long so an aquarium of at least 180 gallons is required with plenty room to swim and sand to sift through. Goatfish are very active swimmers and constantly in the sand looking for food. Goatfish should only be housed with other peaceful fish. Goatfish are not considered reef safe as they will eat small inverts, worms, and crustaceans. Their diet consists of mysis, brines, frozen and fresh meaty foods.
