The Porcupine Puffer is a semi-aggressive fish, known for nipping at smaller fish. This fish can reach up to 12 inches in length. They will require an aquarium of at least 150 gallons with plenty of room to swim. Porcupine Puffers are not considered reef safe as they are known to eat crustaceans and small inverts. When threatened this puffer will inflate to twice its size. Parts of their body are poisonous when consumed. Their diet consists of meaty foods like squid, krill, clams, mysis, brines, and shrimp. Hard shell inverts help to keep their teeth filed down. The Porcupine Puffer is a possible long time companion to any aquarium with a life span of 10-15 years.
