The Blue Head Wrasse goes through many color changes throughout its life. As a juvenile they are yellow with black markings. As adults the males will have the black and white pattern with the blue head. Females will just be a turquoise color with maybe a black stripe or two. These fish can grow up to 7 inches in length and will require an aquarium of at least 75 gallons or larger with plenty of rock to hide and swim through. The Blue head Wrasse is very territorial and should be added last to your aquarium. They are not considered completely reef safe as they will eat small fish, inverts and crustaceans. Their diet consists of mysis, brines, and other meaty foods along with high quality flakes and pellets.
