The Bamboo Shark requires finer sand as the substrate in the aquarium, because the abdomen is easily scratched by a coarser substrate, thus possible causing infection. It should never be exposed to copper-based medications. The Bamboo Shark will eat any crustacean in the aquarium. Providing hiding spaces for the lights-on time of the aquarium will allow the shark to remain in a darker area.
