The orange of the Orange Tail Blue Damsel indicates the male sex. The female Orange Tail Blue Damsel tail is completely blue. They are very bright in color and a hardy fish to keep. Great choice as a beginner with a saltwater aquarium. They can reach a maximum size of 3 inches. An aquarium of at least 30 gallons will be needed. They are reef safe but can be aggressive to other damsels. Their diet consists of flakes, algae, freeze dried and frozen foods.
