The Banded Cat Shark requires finer sand as the substrate in the aquarium, as the abdomen is easily scratched by a coarser substrate, thus causing infection. It should never be exposed to copper-based medications. The Banded Cat Shark will eat any crustacean in the aquarium. Providing hiding spaces for the lights-on time of the aquarium will allow the Banded Cat to remain in a darker area.
