The Brittle Star is nocturnal and during the day will stay hidden under rocks. When the lights go out they come out to scavenge on the sand bed for detritus and left over fish food. Like other inverts they are sensitive to copper based medications. Sea stars should not be exposed to air as much as possible. Drip acclimation is best for sea stars due to sensibility to water chemistry.
