Flame scallops are fun additions to reef aquariums. They are bright red filter feeders that should be kept in an established, stable aquarium. They are a moderately challenging tank addition and do not bother other tank inhabitants. They will benefit from lower light pockets and additional planktonic food additions.  Hermit crabs, true crabs and large starfish should not be kept with Flame Scallops.
