The Brown and White hermit is a peaceful hermit. They are scavengers and like to eat algae and left over fish food they find in the substrate. Like most hermits they are an opportunistic and will attack snails, hermits, and sick fish. They will attack snails for their shells. It is best to have extra empty shells in the aquarium to help reduce the possible snail attacks.
