Blacknose Butterflyfish

The Blacknose Butterflyfish, sometimes called Barberfish is a peaceful fish. They can grow up to 6 inches and will require an aquarium of at least 120 gallons with plenty of rockwork to hide and forage from. They should be the only butterflyfish in the aquarium unless a mated pair. These are not considered reef safe as like other butterflyfish they will nip at soft and stony corals. The fish is known to pick parasites from other fish. Their diet consists of marine algae, mysis, brines, and other meaty foods. They may also take high quality flake and pellet foods.
